|Dear Steele Community,
Thank you for attending the annual Steele Art Show. I received great joy and satisfaction watching your children find their art treasures that they created during the year. Thank you to all the volunteers who matted and hung the show this year. Your help was so greatly appreciated.
It is also with mixed emotions that I wish to inform you that I am retiring at the end of this school year. I have been a DPS art teacher for over 23 years and a DPS classroom teacher for over 9 years before that, and have come to a point where it is time to close this wonderful chapter in my life. This decision has been extremely difficult for me due to my love for our Steele students and working with such passionate teachers and staff. However, I will be retiring at the end of this school year – June 1, 2018 – and starting the next chapter of life’s educational adventures.
Thank you for your continued support of the Steele Visual Arts Program as it is extremely important to the education of the whole child. I hope that you continue to support and keep the arts in the Denver Public Schools for your children and those that follow.
A deep, heart-felt “thank you” to you and our wonderful Steele community, and I hope our education paths cross in the near future.
