Field Day – May 18

Field Day is Friday, May 18th at the north end of Wash Park. In case of bad weather, Field Day will be help on Tuesday, May 22nd. Students in K-2 are beginning their stations promptly at 8:30; these will last until approximately 11:00. Students in 3-5 will begin with the Class Relay at 12:00 sharp. There will be a boys’ race, then a girls’ race, and then classes will break out to their starting stations. The 3-5 stations last until approximately 2:00. The All School 50-yard Dash will conclude the day. The dash will run at 2:20, featuring the fastest student from each of the 3-5 classes.

Students must bring a lunch from home on Field Day. Steele’s cafeteria will not serve lunch. If your student needs lunch, your teacher can arrange a sack lunch to be prepared by the cafeteria.

All students need their own sunscreen, gym shoes, and a full water bottle with their name written on it using a Sharpie. Hats and sunglasses are encouraged. I will not have bottles of water for students or cups at the park. I will have jugs for them to refill their water bottles only. Some classes enjoy a picnic, and that is left up to the teacher. Others eat lunch at Steele. Please check with your child’s teacher for your classroom’s plan.

If you can help with setup, running a station, or breakdown, your help is truly appreciated. Please email me if you can help.

I am very excited for your kids to show off the skills we learned this year. I hope you can take the time to come out to our event.
