From the Health Office

As a part of the Whole Child, Healthy Child 2020 agenda, Denver Public Schools will be conducting a Universal Health Screening (Vision, Hearing, Oral Health and Body Mass Index) for all elementary students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades. The purpose of the screening is to identify students who may be at risk for health concerns affecting the student’s ability to reach academic benchmarks. This year the screening will be conducted at Steele September 19th, 20th, 23rd and 24th, 2019.

An information sheet about the screening was sent home with students in their backpacks (also with information regarding opting-out). Please review the information and contact Andrea Dite, RN (School Nurse) at 720-424-3724 with any questions.
