From the Principal

Dear Steele Families,

I am thankful for many things this year. At the top of my list is being the principal of Steele Elementary. Every day, I have the opportunity to engage with the most dedicated and talented educators in Colorado, and quite likely the country! Another reason I am grateful to be the principal of Steele Elementary is I find so much joy and happiness in interacting with and learning about our students. Steele students consistently showcase a range of amazing gifts and talents at school. I have been particularly impressed by the leadership potential of our students. The ideas generated by our students are thoughtful, creative, innovative, and positively impact on our school, community, and beyond.

I am also deeply appreciative of your support. Every day I am amazed by the number of parent volunteers working in classrooms and around the school! Parent involvement significantly impacts student achievement and happiness at school. Our Collaborative School Committee thoughtfully offers guidance and suggestions for how we might improve our school.

The tremendous efforts of our PTA do not go unnoticed. Through fundraising efforts, volunteering, and organizing community events, our awesome PTA contributes to the success of our school.

Along those lines, I’m asking you to consider a donation to the Steele PTA via Colorado Gives. Our PTA goal is to raise $200,000 annually to fund for 2nd educators, supplement technologies, and providing teacher stipends for every classroom. You can help us continue to deliver that exceptional experience for our students. For giving opportunities, click here.

Steele Elementary is a great place for students to learn and grow in part because of our phenomenal parent support. Thank you!

Mark your calendars for some special events coming up!

  • Mr. Miller’s After-school Drama group will be performing Annie on November 28 and 30 at 5:30 PM each night.
  • Mr. Schmid and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will be performing a concert on December 5 at 6:00 PM

I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

With gratitude,
Cindy
