From the Principal

Dear Steele Families,

Thank you for your patience this week with the evolving plan for today that ultimately led to cancelling school for students. We want you to know we are deeply invested public education and today is a very important day for all Colorado educators who serve in our public education system. We are immensely grateful for your ongoing and generous support of our efforts.

Parent Survey
Please do not forget to complete your Parent Survey. If you recall, this survey was sent home recently along with a stamped manilla envelope for you to mail it to our district office. Your feedback is valuable to us as we reflect on our practices in an effort to grow and improve. Parent Satisfaction is also factored into our overall School Performance Framework rating. Thank you for taking the time to help us be the best we can be for our students and families.

Kindergarten Round Up
We are so excited to be hosting our Kindergarten Round Up and Parent Orientation this Tuesday May 1 at 5:30 pm.

Final Rocket Launch- May 25
As you may have heard, Ralph Sodano will be retiring at the end of this school year. Ralph has served our district for over 31 years! The last several years, he has facilitated the DPS Planetarium program. He has been hosting groups from schools across the district to experience the Planetarium and Science Lab at Steele for many, many years. He has also provided a Rocketry Program for Steele 4th graders for many years. The culminating activity for the Rocketry unit is a Rocket Launch at South High School. This year’s launch will be Ralph’s last Steele Rocket Launch. We are planning to join him as a school at South High School at 12:30 pm to celebrate this very special occasion. Parents are welcome to join us!
