|Dear Steele Families,What an incredible Art Show! The magnitude of this show is beyond words! Ms. Ungar and our students worked collectively to create and showcase amazing rainforest-themed work using a variety of art forms: 2D, 3D, moving art, small and large pieces. WOW! Congratulations to Ms. Ungar and our students on a spectacular show.Ms. Ungar was recognized at the DPS District Art Show on Tuesday evening for inspiring our 4th and 5th graders to created personal landscapes with quotes reflecting their connection to the landscapes represented in the novel Esperanza Rising.
Last night’s Art Show has special significance as it was Ms. Ungar’s grand finale. She has decided to retire at the end of this school year after teaching art for 23 years and teaching in the general education classroom for nine years, for a total of 32 years of service! Through her hard work and commitment over the years, Mrs. Ungar has established an amazing culture of creativity through visual arts at Steele!
