From the Principal

Dear Steele Families,

Many of you have asked for guidance regarding whether to send your child to school during a strike. Our district is encouraging families to send students to school. We realize you will need to make the decision that is best for your family – under these unusual circumstances. Should you choose to keep your child at home, please call or email Melissa to let her know your child will not be in school and the absence(s) will be excused. Should we experience excessive absences during this time, we have been told the absences will not count toward our School Performance Framework attendance rating.

Our Science Fair is next Thursday, January 31! Based on what I’ve been hearing from students, this year’s Science Fair has the potential to be the best ever! Mark your calendar, you are not going to want to miss this event!

Don’t forget on Friday, February 1, there is no school for students. This is a Professional Development Day for staff.

If you live near a family enrolling a student for the 2019-2020 school year, please encourage them to complete the Choice process before February 15. All families living in our attendance area who plan to enroll their child for next year must complete the Choice Enrollment process.
