From the Principal

Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!! I hope you enjoyed a summer vacation filled with fun and exciting memories with your loved ones. We are thrilled to welcome all of you back to a new school year of learning and growing. Personally, I am grateful and elated to embark on this journey with you as your Principal. I look forward to building strong relationships with all of you in the upcoming year.

As I mentioned in my welcome letter, part of our work this year will be reexamining our Steele vision to ensure it reflects the needs of our community. If you have not already completed the survey you can find it linked here.

Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year! Qendrim, our Facilities Manager, and Cesar, his assistant, have worked tirelessly all summer amid construction and painting to ensure our building looks beautiful.

Over the past week, our staff have been working hard to make sure classrooms are ready to welcome back students. Teachers and 2nd educators have spent a lot of time adding personal touches to their classrooms to create warm and welcoming environments. We are ready and excited for the kids to come back!

Melissa has been working hard alongside some amazing volunteers to ensure all students are enrolled by Monday. This is no easy feat. Although Melissa has been on her own since starting back this summer, I am happy to announce that Jessica Yanez will be joining our office staff on Monday. Jessica comes to us from Pascual Ledoux Academy here in Denver Public Schools. We are happy to welcome her to the Steele community.

We are so excited to see you all this afternoon for our Popsicle Social from 3:00-4:00 pm. Come meet your teachers and reconnect with friends. We wish you the best for a successful and rewarding school year!

See you soon,

Marti
