From the Principal

Dear Steele families,

Thank you, Steele Community, for attending and contributing generously at our Annual Steele Bike-a-thon and Carnival. This fundraising event brought in over $2,400 to our P.E., Art, Music, Library, and Drama programs! It was truly a group effort. Thank you goes out to our PTA, particularly Family Events, staff, and the many many adult and student volunteers who kept things running smoothly. We could not have done it without everyone’s help!

Congratulations to Emily Joy, our amazing art teacher! She welcomed her son, Leto, into the world on Tuesday.

Thank you for all your support in ensuring that all students are in the correct location in the mornings. We realize that the transition has been a little bumpy. Here are some things that we’re doing to help smooth things out:

  • We are changing the gate so that it is wider for students to get through. (work order submitted)
  • We’ve added a warning bell that will sound two minutes early. This will be the signal for students to safely walk to their line up spots.
  • Teachers will practice how to line up in the morning, especially for classes who are not on the main playground.

We hope these changes will increase the safety of all students.

Have a great weekend!
