Return to School Q&A – July 28th

Dear Steele families,

Thank you for your patience as we develop plans for the opening of school this year. As you know, information is changing quickly and schools are working to adapt to continually shifting guidelines for how to safely bring our students and staff back.

Last night, DPS sent out a communication about changes to the 100% remote option for families. Previously, the remote option had instruction being delivered from central office staff. This has changed. Schools will now be providing both in person learning and remote learning when we are back in buildings. Although the remote option will be Steele based, it will likely not be by your child’s current classroom teacher. Our homeroom teachers will be focused on in-person instruction.

All students will start remotely on August 24th and will be with their assigned classroom teachers. Any changes will take place when we return for in-person learning. Please keep this in mind when selecting your option next week.

I know you likely have many questions about all of this. I will be hosting a Q&A session next Tuesday, 7/28 at 4:00 pm. To help us better prepare for the meeting, please add your questions to this google doc. We will share the answers to the questions during the meeting and will send our meeting notes out after.
