The Steele Elementary PTA could not be any more grateful to those of you who supported our fall Skatey 80′s fundraiser by buying tickets, bidding on Teacher Experiences, Steele Exclusives and our live auction items. Special thanks to those who volunteered their time to host this amazing event.
With your support we successfully raised $58,000!
This year, we experimented with a lot of new ideas: the location, the format, the bidding platform, and of course the auction. We have identified areas where we can improve the experience in future years and also have learned some valuable lessons.
Unfortunately, we did not hit our fundraising target of $100,000.
In the two previous years our overall net income from the party was $98,000 and $102,000 respectively. The paddle raise, which is tax deductible, historically brings in $40,000 – $48,000. This year, we only raised $14,200.
Given this shortfall, we would like to ask for your help.
To those that have already so generously given, thank you. If you missed the opportunity to raise your paddle at Skatey 80′s, please consider donating on Colorado Gives Day.
Why give on Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, December 5th?
Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund again this year, one of the largest in the country! It increases the value of every donation proportionally.
Here’s how it works: If a nonprofit organization receives 10 percent of the total amount of money raised on Colorado Gives Day, that same nonprofit receives 10 percent of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.
At the completion of Colorado Gives Day, the Foundation will determine each nonprofit’s proportionate share of the incentive fund by dividing the total amount each charity raised by the total amount of donations to all participating nonprofits. This amount will then be multiplied by the total amount of dollars in the Incentive Fund.
Schedule Your Donation
You can schedule your donation here.
Does your employer match your donations to non-profits (501c3)? If they do, you can double your impact by using your employer’s donation matching program.
Together, we can reach our PTA fundraising target of $200,000. Assuming we meet that target, we will be able to maintain programs at their current levels including providing the funding for 2nd educators ($158,000 this year alone), and also supplementing technology investments, providing community building events, and allocating teacher stipends.
Thank you from the PTA
