K/1 Intervention/STL

I joined Steele three years ago as the Senior Team Lead (Instructional Coach) and Reading Intervention Teacher for Kindergarten and First grade. This year I also get to work with second grade, which I am very excited about! Last year I was the Remote Literacy Teacher for Kindergarten and First Grade for part of the year and I loved the opportunity to meet new kids/families from Steele! Prior to Steele, I was an ILT (Instructional Leadership Team Partner) for schools in Northwest Denver. I was the Assistant Principal at Montclair Elementary for ten years before that, and much of my focus there was literacy instruction. I have been a Literacy Coach for three years, and a Third Grade Classroom Teacher for seven years as well! This year is my 24th year in DPS and I look forward to a year of teaching strong foundational skills to our youngest learners and also supporting teachers in this work too! On the weekends you will find me hanging out with my two boys (Brady, age10 and Crosby, age 7) and my husband (Brian). (at the park, the pool, the movies, the mall! ). We also are huge Disney fans so you might find me planning our next adventure there! I look forward to a more consistent year this school year with lots of smiles from our students!!
