My name is Erin Royer. This is my 18th year of teaching, and there’s nowhere I’d rather be than Steele. I’m originally from the Chicago area and earned a master’s degree in elementary education from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. I taught 4th grade for five years in Atherton, California, and then, after moving to Denver, worked in the Cherry Creek School District teaching 3rd grade and Title 1 intervention for three years. After having my sons Finn (19) and Leo (17), I stayed home to take care of them for a few years before restarting my career at Steele as a 4th/5th-grade math and literacy interventionist. I taught 4th-grade for the past 6 years and have now transitioned to the Gifted & Talented role. You can find me in our new Advanced Learning Lab! I’m so grateful to live in Wash Park and to be teaching within my own community. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my sons’ baseball games, doing yoga, cooking, reading, traveling, and cheering on my Iowa Hawkeyes.
